11 марта в Баку состоялась церемония официальной встречи Президента Республики Северная Македония Горданы Силяновска-Давковой, находящейся с официальным визитом в Азербайджанской Республике.
Президент Азербайджана Ильхам Алиев встретил Президента Северной Македонии Гордану Силяновска-Давкову. Прозвучали государственные гимны Республики Северная Македония и Азербайджанской Республики.

Avropa Komissiyası, regionda polad sənayesinin inkişafı ilə bağlı məsləhətləşmələrə başlayıb. Danışıqlarda ArcelorMittal və ThyssenKrupp kimi aparıcı metalurgiya şirkətlərinin nümayəndələri də iştirak ediblər. Müzakirələrdə əsas mövzular yüksək enerji qiymətləri, karbon tullantılarının azaldılması və ABŞ rüsumlarının təsiri ilə bağlı sənayenin rəqabət qabiliyyətinin artırılması olub.
Polad istehsalı, Avropa iqtisadiyyatının digər mühüm sahələri, o cümlədən avtomobil istehsalı, energetika və müdafiə sənayesi üçün həyati əhəmiyyət kəsb edir. Bu sahə, Aİ-nin ÜDM-nə 80 milyard avro töhfə verir və 2,5 milyon iş yeri təmin edir. Avropa İttifaqının 22 ölkəsində təxminən 500 istehsalat obyekti fəaliyyət göstərir.

The European Commission touts action plan for steel industry
The European Commission will publish an action plan to deal with unfair trade measures imposed on the steel sector by international competitors, and revisit import limits set during the steel trade spat which began during the last Trump administration, which are due to end in June 2026, the executive announced on Tuesday, “Caspian Energy Media” reports, citing Euronews.
The action plan is slated to be presented by Commission vice-president Stéphane Séjourné on 19 March, just days after the likely date of entry into force – 12 March - of the 25% tariffs announced by Donald Trump on steel and aluminium imports into the US.
The European sector is now not only concerned about “the almost four million tons of EU steel exports every year to the US”, which will be hit by US tariffs, but also about the 27 million tons of global steel imports currently arriving in the US from elsewhere, which will now be deviated to open markets, Axel Eggert, the director general of steel trade group EUROFER told Euronews. Beyond the review of safeguard measures, the Commission’s action plan will also address other challenges the sector is facing, such as high costs of energy and green production methods.

Европейская комиссия начала консультации о будущем сталелитейной промышленности. В переговорах приняли участие, в том числе представители таких крупных металлургических компаний как АrcelorMittal и ThyssenKrupp. Заинтересованные стороны обсуждали вопрос повышения конкурентоспособности в условиях высоких затрат на электроэнергию, декарбонизации и введения американских пошлин.
Сталелитейное производство имеет основополагающее значение для других важнейших секторов европейской экономики - автомобилестроения, энергетики и оборонной промышленности. Отрасль вносит 80 миллиардов евро в ВВП Евросоюза и обеспечивает 2,5 миллиона рабочих мест. В двадцати двух странах Евросоюза насчитывается около 500 производственных площадок. Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the D-8 organization in the agricultural sector have been discussed.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Sarvan Jafarov, met with a delegation led by the Secretary-General of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation, Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam.
During the meeting, the current state of agricultural cooperation between the organization's member states and prospects for its further development were thoroughly discussed. The parties exchanged views on strengthening the legal and contractual framework of cooperation, increasing trade turnover of agricultural and food products, implementing digitalization, innovative technologies, and solutions in the agricultural sector, ensuring its sustainable development, and facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies, “Caspian Energy Media” reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.
It was emphasized that there is significant potential for expanding mutual cooperation in the agricultural sphere. The parties expressed their interest in developing a partnership between Azerbaijan and D-8 countries in agriculture, highlighting the importance of holding meetings and events in this format.

Заместитель министра сельского хозяйства Азербайджана Сарван Джафаров встретился с делегацией во главе с Генеральным секретарем Организации экономического сотрудничества развивающихся восьми стран (D-8) Исиакой Абдулкадиром Имамом.
В ходе встречи были подробно обсуждены текущее состояние сотрудничества в аграрной сфере между странами-членами организации и перспективы его дальнейшего развития. Стороны обменялись мнениями по вопросам укрепления правовой и договорной базы взаимодействия, увеличения товарооборота сельскохозяйственной и пищевой продукции, внедрения цифровизации, инновационных технологий и решений в сельском хозяйстве, обеспечения устойчивого развития аграрного сектора, а также трансфера передовых технологий.
Было подчеркнуто, что существует значительный потенциал для расширения взаимного сотрудничества в аграрной сфере. Стороны выразили заинтересованность в развитии партнерства между Азербайджаном и странами D-8 в области сельского хозяйства, отметив важность проведения встреч и мероприятий в данном формате. A meeting was held in Uzbekistan with representatives of Czech companies specializing in the production of equipment for the mining sector.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the supply of modern technological equipment, experience exchange, and the implementation of innovative solutions in the country’s mining industry.
Special attention was given to opportunities for production localization and the establishment of joint ventures. Both sides expressed their interest in expanding partnerships to enhance efficiency and ensure the sustainable development of the sector.

В Министерстве горно-добывающей промышленности и геологии Узбекистана проведена встреча с представителями Чешских компании по производству оборудований в горнодобывающем секторе во главе с господином послом Чешской Республики Лубомир Фреборт.
В ходе переговоров были обсуждены вопросы по реализации совместных проектов в рамках программы локализации, двухстороннему сотрудничеству, созданию совместных производственных мощностей по выпуску оборудований для горнодобывающего сектора.

AzerTelecom and Kazakhtelecom sign important document within framework of Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic cable project
Another phase of the construction of the Trans-Caspian Fiber Optic Cable Line, a key component of the Digital Silk Way project aimed at creating a digital corridor between Europe and Asia through Azerbaijan, has begun. A document approving the agreement on the construction of the submarine fiber-optic communication lines along the seabed of the Caspian Sea was signed with the participation of the Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Ali Asadov and Olzhas Bektenov. The document was signed by Emil Masimov, Chairman of the Board of AzerTelecom, and Bagdat Musin, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom.
The Trans-Caspian Cable Project, which is strategically significant for the region, involves the construction of a 380 km long fiber-optic cable line along the seabed of the Caspian Sea, connecting Sumgait (Azerbaijan) and Aktau (Kazakhstan). This will enable high-capacity data transmission, supporting speeds of up to 400 terabits per second.
The construction process will be carried out in multiple stages, including the assessment of coastal areas and the seabed, the design and production of high-quality, durable cables, as well as their transportation and installation. AzerTelecom and Kazakhtelecom plan to complete the construction by the end of 2026.
