Vija Buša: “Latvia is interested in advancing further cooperation with Azerbaijan”

During her speech at the Central Baltic & Azerbaijan Business Forum held in Latvia’s capital Riga with the participation of Caspian Energy Club members, Deputy Head of the Latvian Mission in Azerbaijan Vija Buša has noted that Latvia is interested in advancing further cooperation with Azerbaijan and that she sees a lot of business opportunities which can be studied in the near future. 

According to her, there has been a positive trend seen in the development of economic ties between Latvian and Azerbaijan in recent years.  Latvia intends to strengthen cooperation in such areas as ICT, smart energy and green technologies, including agriculture, higher and occupational education, and researches.

“Transport and logistics are important sectors for cooperation. Latvia’s national company airBaltic will continue performing seasonal direct flights from July to November 2024. It is of great importance to develop a firm, stable and reliable transportation corridor between the Caspian, Black Sea and Baltic regions”,  Ms. Vija Buša, Deputy Head of the Latvian Mission in Azerbaijan, said.
