During the meeting of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov with Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Phumtham Wechayachai discussed key issues of bilateral relations concerning the development of trade, cooperation in tourism and sports, as well as prospects for the implementation of joint investment projects and increasing exports of Kazakh products.

In addition, the possibility of using the transit potential of Kazakhstan in the context of the development of the Trans-Caspian route was discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their intentions to deepen economic co-operation between the two countries.

В ходе встречи Премьер-Министра Республики Казахстан Олжаса Бектенова с заместителем Премьер-Министра Королевства Таиланд Пхамтумом Вечайячай были обсуждены ключевые вопросы двусторонних отношений, касающиеся развития торговли, сотрудничества в области туризма и спорта, а также перспективы реализации совместных инвестиционных проектов и наращивания экспорта казахстанской продукции.

Кроме того, была обсуждена возможность использования транзитного потенциала Казахстана в контексте развития Транскаспийского маршрута.

В завершении встречи стороны выразили намерения по углублению экономического сотрудничества между двумя странами.

Head of the Government Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the oil and gas industry development.

During the meeting the current challenges and prospects of oil production, oil refining, as well as plans to implement new projects in geological exploration were discussed.

As Prime Minister noted, the Head of State has set tasks for the Government to develop and increase the investment attractiveness of the oil and gas sector. Last year the country produced 90 million tonnes of oil, the confirmed reserves are estimated at 2.9 billion tonnes. The industry generates a significant part of tax revenues and jobs.

Olzhas Bektenov stressed the importance of launching major projects in Kazakhstan, including a petrochemical plant in the Atyrau region with a capacity of 500 thousand tonnes of polypropylene per year, the start of construction of three gas processing plants. Prospects for the construction of butadiene and polyethylene plants were discussed.

“The current dynamics of Azerbaijan-Congo relations is gratifying. Your visit to Azerbaijan in April has given a new impetus to the friendly and cooperative relations between our countries. Additionally, the recent visit of the COP29 President-Designate to Congo is a clear example of our countries' partnership in combating climate change ,” the letter reads.

Azerbaijan has started printing ballots for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections scheduled to take place on September 1.

Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) inspected the printing process and the conditions created for this task.

He announced that a total of 6,516,567 ballots would be printed in the process.

The CEC Chairman briefed the media on the ballot printing process and overall election preparations.

Gena Rowlands, hailed as one of the greatest actors to ever practice the craft and a guiding light in independent cinema as a star in groundbreaking movies by her director husband, John Cassavetes, and who later charmed audiences in her son's tear-jerker The Notebook, has died. She was 94.

Rowlands' death was confirmed by representatives for her son, filmmaker Nick Cassavetes. He revealed earlier this year that his mother had Alzheimer’s disease.
