President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a phone call to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on October 7, the press service of the President of Azerbaijan reports.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed best wishes to President of Russia on his birthday, wished him new successes in his state activities for Russia’s development and prosperity, and strong health.
Vladimir Putin thanked the Azerbaijani President for his attention and congratulations.
During the conversation, the heads of state discussed the situation over the ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
President Ilham Aliyev and President Vladimir Putin exchanged views on the issues related to prospects for Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral relations.
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin turned 68 on October 7. Putin was born in Leningrad in 1952.
The press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov has earlier stated that the head of state would meet his birthday at work. So, he has more than 10 phone calls scheduled for the first half of the day. He will meet friends and family members in the second half of the day.
