Russia to continue rapprochement with China

An attempt to drive a wedge between China and Russia is doomed to failure, and relations between the two countries are able to withstand the tests of any risks and challenges. This was said by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhao Lijan.

He made this statement after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made it clear last Wednesday, (October 14) that Moscow does not intend to maneuver towards the anti-Chinese coalition led by the United States.

In response to a certain country's attempt to drive a wedge between China and Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has repeatedly expressed his clear opposition to this, as well as criticized  such divisive behavior that violates the fundamental norms of international relations and humiliates the dignity of a major power", Zhao Lijan said at the regular briefing held for Media.

Currently, the United States has put forward an "Indo-Pacific strategy" and relying on the quadrilateral mechanisms of the United States-Japan-India-Australia, it seeks to create a new Alliance in this region, right up to the formation of a regional equivalent of NATO.

The goal of such a strategy, which promotes the Cold war mentality, relies on block confrontation and is obsessed with geopolitical games, is to protect the leading position of the United States and the system of American domination. If this strategy is forcibly implemented, it will inevitably damage the central position of ASEAN and undermine peace and stability in the region, which in no way meets the common and long-term interests of the countries of the region and arouses more doubts and fears in them. This in particular was stated by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the exclusive interview with Xinhua.
