Get the list of hydropower investment projects of Central Asia and Caspian region

Among the project featured in the report: 

·         Construction of three HPPs on the Pskem river, Uzbekistan.

Pskemskaya HPP, Mullalakskaya and Verkhnepskemskaya HPP. Commissioning of Pskemskaya HPP is expected before 2025, nameplate capacity amounts to 400 MW. Major investments were provided by Uzbekistan, about $240 million more is planned for unlocking.

·      Construction of three HPPs on the Aksu river, Uzbekistan.

Overall capacity will reach 24 MW. The facilities are included in the sustainable hydropower project of Uzbekistan and Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

·         Construction of Rogun HPP, Tajikistan.

The project implies six hydropower units, two of them have already been installed. Nameplate capacity - 3600 MW. Once commissioned, average annual production will amount to 13.1 billion kWh.  

·         Construction of two HPPs on the Zarafshon river, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. 

Yavan HPP, valued at $282 million, is the first to be constructed. Its capacity comprises 140 MW. The second phase is construction on the Fondarya river, the HPP, estimated at $270 million, will have the capacity of 135 MW. 

·         Construction of Namakhvani HPPs cascade, Georgia.

ENKA’s project of Namakhvani HPPs cascade includes two separate HPPs on the Rioni river. The facilities will start operation in 2024, they will annually generate about 433 MW.
