SOCAR AQS intends to take part in new projects

Turan Drilling & Engineering LLC, a joint venture of KCA Deutag and SOCAR AQS state-owned company, will start drilling operations in the beginning of May, General Director of SOCAR AQS Ramin Isayev said at a briefing on Thursday, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports.

The maximum value of the concluded contract within the framework of the agreed performance time of the contract is $700 million (taking into account the possibility of extending its term).

According to Ramin Isayev, in the future SOCAR AQS intends to take part in new projects in the region. “We take part in different tenders in order to expand our activities not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the northern part of Russia, in Uzbekistan,” Ramin Isayev said.

At the beginning of January SOCAR AQS completed drilling operations at one of the wells in Bangladesh, he said. Ramin Isayev believes it is the achievement that during the drilling work none of the workers was injured.
