Overall progress on TANAP is 99.5%

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and representatives of the company's management attended the TANAP board meeting, which was held in Ankara to discuss the current state of the TANAP project, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press statement of SOCAR.

It was noted that works on the TANAP section stretching towards the city of Eskisehir, as well as works on construction of the section towards the border with Greece, is being implemented ahead of schedule. Construction work on the on shore section has been completed and final commissioning works are currently underway. The overall progress on both phases of the project has reached 99.5%. Feeding gas to the section from Eskisehir to the Turkish-Greek border is expected to start from April 15.

At the same time it was highlighted that all works are implemented according to the international standards, in compliance with all safety requirements.

The TANAP gas pipeline is one of three major pipeline projects constituting the Southern Gas Corridor project and SOCAR’s largest investment project in Turkey.

It stands to mention that the official opening ceremony of the TANAP gas pipeline section from the Georgian-Turkish border to Eskisehir took place on June 12, 2018. The first commercial gas supplies to Turkey via TANAP started on June 30. The participating interests of the TANAP gas pipeline are Southern Gas Corridor CJSC (51%), BOTAŞ (30%), BP (12%) and SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.Ş (7%).
