Kazakhstan to reduce imports of Russian fuel

Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asset Magauov said Kazakhstan intends to reduce the import of Russian diesel fuel by 70,000 tonnes, but the volumes of imported gasoline almost doubled.

“The pre-commissioning works are now in process at the Atyrau refinery and by the end of November the refinery promises to produce improved products. Gasoline output is expected to grow almost 2.5 times. If earlier the total amount of gasoline at this refinery was about 600,000 tonnes, then it will increase to 1.6 million tonnes”, Asset Magauov said during the press conference, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the data of the ministry, in 2018 the country will produce two million tonnes of gasoline for export.
