Puglia considering use of natural gas

“Natural gas is an ideal solution to replace coal and reduce pollution that affects Puglia, Italy”, TAP Managing Director Luca Schieppati said during the energy summit in Italy, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to TAP’s statement in Twitter.

The initial capacity of TAP will be 10 billion cubic meters per year with the possibility of doubling.

The length of the pipeline is 878 km, of which 545 km will go via Greece, 215 km in Albania, 105 km across the Adriatic Sea, 8 km in Southern Italy. The highest point of the pipeline will be located in the mountains of Albania (1,800 m), the lowest at the bottom of the sea (820 m). Participating interests: BP – 20%, SOCAR – 20%, Snam – 20%, Fluxys – 19%, Enagás – 16%, Axpo – 5%.
