Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon to arrive in Baku Featured

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will make an official visit to Baku on August 9-11. According to the diplomatic sources, a broad range of issues concerning all aspects of bilateral cooperation and cooperation within international organizations (CIS and SCO) will be discussed at the meeting of Tajikistan President with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Besides, discussed will be issues of regional economic cooperation of the two countries within the framework of development of new transport corridors, and development of cooperation in the energy field. A number of agreements regulating future prospects of development of relations between the two countries is planned to be signed.

E.Rahmon is expected to deliver a lecture in front of the students at ADA.

It bears reminding that Tajikistan has taken over presidency in CIS from Russia since January 1, 2018.  President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will preside in the Council of the Heads of State-participants of CIS throughout the year.

In October 2018 Dushanbe will host the session of the Council of Heads of Governments of the SCO member states. At present 8 countries are the members of SCO – Republic of India, Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan.

Four countries have a status of an observer under SCO – Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Belarus, Islamic Republic of Ira and Mongolian Republic.

6 countries are partners on SCO dialogue – Republic of Azerbaijan, Kingdom of Cambodia, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Republic of Turkey, and Democratic Socialistic Republic Sri-Lanka.
