Iran Railway Company joins CIS Railway Union

The Iran Railway Company was accepted as a member of the Railway Union of the CIS countries, company's Deputy Director for Trade Affairs Babak Ahmadi said, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to Iran Daily.

Babak Ahmadi further said that good programs are being implemented in the railways sector through private companies, reported Mehr News Agency.

As for the problems with Russian railcars, he assured that Iranian railcars will be used to transport cargoes in the coming months. He added that trucks are not good for transporting cargoes in the CIS region. Therefore, it is necessary to work on transporting cargo by railcars, Ahmadi said.

The impact of the sanctions on the railway sector is minimal.
