BTK to reduce time of freight transportation 4 times

“At present, freight transportation from China to UK, France, Germany and other European countries along the Southern and Northern Corridor, including the sea route, takes 45-62 days. With the commissioning of the BTC, this period will decrease to 12-15 days. The scope of freight transportation from China to Europe comprises 240 million tonnes. If at least 10% of these goods pass through the Central Corridor passing through our countries, then it will already comprise 24 million tonnes. It will be more profitable to transport these goods via BTK due to time saving. I believe even these reasons will be enough to turn BTK and the Central Transport Corridor into a significant and important part of the historic Silk Road. At the same time we believe that transport projects on which work is performed simultaneously in the region will complement and strengthen each other”, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in the interview with APA, Trend and AZERTAC, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) with reference to apa.az.

“Today the first train will move via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, which is of strategic importance for the whole region, in particular for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Thus, we announce the establishment of the direct railway communication from London to China”, the President of Turkey added.
