President attends opening of the highway

Yesterday President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of Chukhanli-Ganjali-Piratman-Parcha-Khalaj-Seyidan highway of Salyan district, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

Chairman of Azeravtoyol OJSC Saleh Mammadov informed that 17.4km of an over 30km long road had been reconstructed by the local executive power at the expense of funds allocated on basis of the orders signed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2014 and 2015. The reconstruction of the remained 12.8km of the road has been assigned to Azeravtoyol OJSC by the order signed by the Head of State last year.

A two lane traffic road reconstructed in accordance with the 4th technical category used to be covered by sand and crushed stones before which caused difficulties for the movement of citizens. Useless soil layer of the road was removed in certain areas. Asphalt covering has been laid on the road. Drainage pipes were installed in necessary sections in the course of the reconstruction work. Road signs and information panel have been installed in required sections for a normal movement transport facilities. Traffic striping has also been carried out.

It stands to mention that the construction of the Chukhanli-Ganjali-Piratman-Parcha-Khalaj-Seyidan highway linking 5 residential areas with the total population of 5,000 people will notably improve the transportation of goods and passengers and enable convenient transportation of agricultural products. The head of state met with the representatives of the community of the district.
