President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has visited today (April 4) Azersun Production and Logistics Center LLP in Aktau, Kazakhstan, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The head of state was informed about the work of the center and viewed the warehouses for storing production goods, as well as fruits and vegetables.
“The activity of the logistics center in Aktau is aimed at reducing the prime cost of food products. It is necessary to take measures to increase the storage capacity and transportation of goods in order to reduce production costs and replenish food products both in Mangistau oblast and in other regions of the republic”, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said, wishing successes to the employees of the center.
It stands to mention that the decision to set up Azersun Production and LogisticsCenter at Morport Aktau FEZ was made on the basis of the mutual agreement reached between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on August 16, 2013 at the Summit of the Turkic-Speaking Countries in Gabala.
On June 28, 2014, Morport Aktau FEZ hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for Azersun Production and LogisticsCenter.
The volume of investment comprised $21.4 million. The total area is 4.2 hectares.
The center receives and dispatches cargoes by rail, sea and motor transport (total area of warehouses is 8,730 sq. meters, warehouses for storage of dry cargoes: 4,365 sq. meters, cold-storage warehouses: 4,365 sq. meters).
