Aromatic hydrocarbons production complex to be launched at Atyrau refinery

An aromatic hydrocarbons production complex at Atyrau refinery will begin operation in the second half of 2014, Kazakh Minister of Oil and Gas Uzakbay Karabalin told a Government Hour in the Majilis, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

"100% of the main process equipment was delivered to the aromatic hydrocarbons production complex at Atyrau refinery in 2013. Construction and installation work is underway. The project is expected to be launched in the second half of 2014," Karabalin said.

In addition, according to the ministry, there was signed a contract with "Rominserv" Company for the first stage of modernization of Pavlodar petrochemical plant. In relation to Shymkent refinery, there was approved a strategy for accelerated implementation of the project and the transition to the investment stage. Construction works started.
