Russia and Turkey discuss cooperation in IT and e-government sphere

On June 8 the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting of the ministry representatives with their counterpart from the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication of the TurkishRepublic as well as the Ministry of Development of the TurkishRepublic. The participants discussed issues of cooperation in the field of information technologies and e-government, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press-service of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of Russia.

The parties also discussed a number of key issues in the field of IT. In particular, the Russian side presented major aspects of “Strategy of development of information technologies in Russia until 2025” and the road map on its implementation, including the enhancement of the attractiveness of the Russian jurisdiction for IT companies, small and medium business, creation of infrastructure of high-performance working places, elimination of the human resource deficiency in IT sphere and popularization of IT specialties. The result should be a double increase of IT’s contribution to RF’s GDP by 2018.
