Strong dollar to bring PCs and phones sales down by 7.2%

This year, the global market of PCs and mobile electronics will grow by 2.8% in real terms, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan.

In 2015, the global supply of personal computers, tablets, premium ultrabooks and mobile phones will hit 2.49 million units against 2.42 million a year earlier. In this case, the total revenue of sellers and manufacturers of these products will fall by 7.2% to make $226 billion. Excluding unfavorable currency fluctuations, setbacks in the money market will make 3.1%.

Experts expect shipments of desktops and laptops globally to go down to 306 million units in 2015, which is 2.4% down vs. 2014.
