Ministry of Telecom of Russia discuss TASIM project

 

The Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) project has been discussed at the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.

The TASIM project seeks to create a modern backbone network covering the Eurasian countries from Western Europe to Eastern Asia. The telecommunications transit between China and Europe is projected to go through the territory of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey. Construction of a submarine Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan cable via the Caspian Sea is also on the agenda. The necessity to continue discussion of Russia's role in the project was stressed at the meeting.
