Baku hosts international IT forum

International forum Eurasia Network Operators Group 8 (ENOG8) kicked off  in Baku on September 10, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press-service of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies.

 

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh spoke about achievements made in the country’s high technologies sector recently.

 

“As a result of successful implementation of the e-government program, e-services have been accessible for citizens living in all regions of the country. Along with this, the country has created an opportunity for the introduction of new information technologies. Today, access to the Internet through wireless and fiber-optic cables is available. In addition to being a means of communication, the Internet has also become a tool that gives impetus to the development of business. Holding such forums makes a new contribution to the work implemented in the country for the development of high technologies sector,” said the Deputy Minister.

 

At the event, Renesys / Dyn representative Jim Cowie  delivered a lecture on “Mapping the Digital Silk Road”, Martin Levy, a spokesman for CloudFlare  gave a talk on “Securing CDN Traffic at CloudFlare”, Marco Hogenwoning, RIPE NCC representative  made a report on  “Practical Tips to Start IPv6 Deployment ” and other experts made speeches.
