Internet services market in Azerbaijan increases by 4 times

The volume of the Internet services market in our country increased by 4 times in the last 5 years, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan. This information on the development of the national segment of the Internet is from the annual report “Ministry of Communications and High Technologies – 2013”.

 

The report published by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) says the volume of the Internet market in the country in 2013 reached $128.9 million:

 

“In real terms, there was an increase of 45 per cent compared to the previous year. In 2013, the number of internet users per 100 people was 73, while the number of broadband Internet users was 55. In the last 5 years, Internet tariffs declined by 12.5 times. Reduction in the price of Internet increased demand for the service, which in turn has facilitated the growth of the international internet channels. In the last 5 years, international channel capacity per 100 internet users increased 14.4 times from 324 kbit / s to 4650.7 kbit / s.”
