SFDIT Supervisory Board holds its regular meeting

The Supervisory Board of the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies (SFDIT) under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCHT) has held its regular meeting.

Issues related to the current state of the first grant competition and the opening of a credit line for authorized credit institutions were discussed at the meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the meeting, SFDIT Executive Director Elchin Zeynalov said that the process of acceptance of projects for the grant competition had already been completed. “Within the competition, which ended on 2 May 2014, the fund received 193 projects, most of which were presented in electronic form.

55 of the submitted projects dealt with the expansion of ICT services and the development of internet services, 26 – dealt with the development of innovative ICT product samples, 41 – dealt with the development of the innovation infrastructure, including the development of new technologies and their commercialization, 22 – dealt with the creation of information networks based on modern technologies, 43 – dealt with the development of advanced software and 6 – dealt with mixed industries.

The fund will conduct initial expert evaluation of the projects during 15 working days. At the next stage, a comprehensive expert examination of the projects will be held within 20 working days. Then, the projects will be presented to the Supervisory Board for the final decision,” Elchin  Zeynalov said.
