3rd meeting of Azerbaijani-Afghan working group

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) has held the 3rd    meeting of the Azerbaijani-Afghan Working Group for Cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).

The meeting was held as part of the project “The establishment of e-government in Afghanistan”. During the meeting reports were heard on the work carried out by relevant ministries of both countries and Azerbaijani company SINAM LTD. After that the sides exchanged views on the current needs of the ICT sector in Afghanistan, the potential participation of Azerbaijan in this country’s ICT  sector and other issues, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Communications and IT of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Velizadeh noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan is developing in all spheres, including in the field of ICT. Saying MCIT will further continue providing the necessary assistance, the Deputy Minister considered the work done so far satisfactory.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan Aimal Marjan thanked the Azerbaijani side on behalf of his country. He noted that considerable work has been done in the field of ICT in Afghanistan with the support from Azerbaijani colleagues. Stressing his country’s interest in continuing cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister expressed confidence that important results will be achieved in the near future on the topics discussed.
