Ukraine emphasizes the inadmissibility of preserving the status quo of Nagorno-Karabakh

“Ukraine emphasizes the inadmissibility of preserving the status quo of Nagorno-Karabakh”, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated at the joint press conference with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on July 14, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of President of Ukraine.

Petro Poroshenko noted the importance of mutual support in the issue of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He expressed gratitude to Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for their clear position of support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The President of Azerbaijan noted that along with development of trade and economic cooperation, Ukraine and Azerbaijan successfully cooperate in such international organizations like the UN, OSCE and Council of Europe. He also noted that the establishment of joint industrial complexes was important not only for the heavy industry, but also for the military-technical one. “We have opportunities to develop this sphere as well,” Ilham Aliyev said.

“I am pleased to state that Kyiv and Baku share common views on the topical problems of global and regional agenda. We have agreed to coordinate and harmonize our approaches and enhance interaction in multilateral format taking into account Ukraine’s membership in the UN Security Council. Azerbaijan has been always supporting Ukraine actively and it can count on Ukraine’s support in 2016-2017 during its presidency,” the Head of State of Ukraine said.

Also, it was agreed to intensify cooperation between the two countries in the context of Azerbaijan's presidency in the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.
