GSI to expand cooperation with SOCAR

The sides discussed a possible role of Goldman Sachs International in financing SOCAR's trade operations, the volume of which is expanding in Turkey and around the world. SOCAR and Goldman Sachs will conduct a joint study and research to determine principles of partnership in current and future projects. GSI is interested in financing SOCAR's infrastructure and industrial projects around the world. A joint working group is expected to be established to conduct research in these areas.

The cooperation between SOCAR and Goldman Sachs International started in December 2014 from the acquisition of a 30% stake in Petlim. In 2015, Goldman Sachs spent $1.3 billion to purchase a 13% stake of SOCAR Turkey Energy A.Ş., the subsidiary of SOCAR.
