“One of the main goals for the economy of Azerbaijan is to strengthen the export capacity. In this regard, serious work is being done to create production facilities, and the infrastructure has been provided by the government. Business people should use the created conditions”, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan Ramiz Hasanov said on Wednesday during the IV International Caspian Energy Forum, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports.
He believes that the second important issue is the conformity of exported products to the standards of the countries where products will be exported: “We have been harmonizing the standards since 2008. To this end, 14 technical committees are operating. At present, there are 940 national standards in Azerbaijan, 45% of which have been harmonized with the international standards”.
Serious work is being done to develop the accreditation system, Ramiz Hasanov said, noting that currently 92 trademarks of Azerbaijan are protected by copyright under the brand ‘Made in Azerbaijan’.
