Kazakhstan plans to increase share of renewables

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans to increase the share of renewable sources of energy in the country’s energy balance from 1% up to 3% by 2020, and up to 10% by 2030. By 2050, the Republic intends to bring the share rate up to 50% in renewable energy sources, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

“The Government of Kazakhstan has set ambitious goals not only in the field of renewable sources of energy but also in increase of energy efficiency and sustainable development of the country”, Deputy Chairman of the International Center of Green Technologies and Investment projects Arman Kashkinbekov said.
