Energy ministers confirm participation in the forum

Astana will host theInternational Forum “Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development” on June 11-14 within the framework of EXPO-2017, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press statement of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The results of the ministerial meeting will be included in the manifesto of the values of the international exhibition.

“We need to focus on a search of a right balance while using energy sources, we will continue to deal with renewable energy sources and their development”, General Director of KAZENERGY Association Bolat Akchulakov said. 20 ministers and vice-ministers of energy from different countries of the world have confirmed their participation in the ministerial meeting.

In 2017, the Eighth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development will be held in Astana within the framework of EXPO-2017 “Energy of the Future”. Its work will begin with the Ministerial Conference “Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development”.

 The forum is held by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the UN regional commissions (ECE, ESCAP, ESCWA, ECA, ECLAC), UN specialized agencies (UNIDO, UNDP, SE4ALL, etc.) and other partners (IEA, IRENA, Energy Charter).

The ministerial conference is held for the first time in the framework of the Forum, which should raise the level of discussions, as well as the overall contribution of the “Energy of the Future” Exhibition to achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
