INOGATE seminar in Belarus focuses on energy efficiency policies

The INOGATE Technical Secretariat is holding a Regional Seminar on the calculation of Energy Efficiency Indicators (EEIs) in Minsk, Belarus on 22-24 September, aiming to develop indicators for the monitoring and evaluation of energy efficiency policies, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press service of the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre.

Participants will discuss best international practices in this area as well as raise awareness of the importance of data quality. Another aim of the seminar is to establish the status quo and priorities in each Partner Country, with examples of EEI systems at international level, highlighting the progress achieved in Belarus and Azerbaijan.

The seminar will also assist representatives of the five INOGATE countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine) in calculating EEIs for their country in three main areas: economy-wide indicators, residential and industry indicators.

INOGATE is an EU-funded programme promoting international energy co-operation between the European Union and the Partner Countries of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, etc. It works to support the EU policy frameworks of the Baku Initiative, the Eastern Partnership – Energy Security Platform and the Energy Community.
