Works on completion of Hungarian NPP construction running as planned

Operations on construction of Paks NPP in Hungary are underway in accordance with the schedule, General Director of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko said, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the official website of Rosatom. “Everything goes strictly in accordance with the schedule. Necessary permissions have been received”, Kiriyenko told the journalists.

Late in 2014 RF and Hungary signed documents to construct the fifth and sixth units of the single Hungarian NPP Paks with nuclear units designed on basis of the Russian technology VVER- 1200. Russia will provide Hungary a credit worth up to 10 bln EUR for this project. The construction of units is expected to start in 2018.

A preliminary safety analysis report must be worked out by summer of 2016, including a preliminary safety analysis. It is necessary to do in order to receive a license for building the nuclear units of Paks 2 NPP. Finally, the project documentation for the construction of new units of the station must be released by the end of March of 2017.

According to the materials, total cost of operations engineering survey, development of project and foremost documentation as well as development of the information model of Paks-2 totals almost 5.1 bln RUB (VAT exclusive).
