Rosatom ready to offer Saudi Arabia overall development of nuclear energy

Rosatom is ready to offer Saudi Arabia an overall development of nuclear energy in all key direction including construction of the NPP, supply of nuclear fuel and construction of the research reactor. The head of the state corporation Sergey Kiriyenko stated it in his interview with TASS after signing an intergovernmental agreement with Saudi Arabia about cooperation for peaceful use of nuclear energy in St Petersburg, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the official website of Rosatom.

As it was reported earlier, 16 nuclear power plant units are planned to be built in Saudi Arabia by 2040.

Kiriyenko estimated construction of 16 nuclear power plant units in Saudi Arabia at $100bln. “It makes over 20,000 MW of electric power. It is a total size of investments worth $100bln”, the head of the corporation told Russia-24.
