Russia – IAEA’s major partner

President of Russia Vladimir Putin met (18 June) with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the XIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Russian Federation.

According to Vladimir Putin, Russia is actively working with the IAEA. According to him, the Russian state corporation Rosatom has a very serious package of orders for the next 10 years and is one of the most active market participants. “In one of the most high-tech sectors - in enriching - we take a solid 40 per cent of the total market. You as anyone else well know that we strictly adhere to all the issues related to non-proliferation, and work closely with the IAEA”, the head of state of Russia said.

In turn, Yukiya Amano noted that Russia is the most important partner of the IAEA. “I am very pleased about the opportunity to discuss with you some of the current issues and other issues of mutual interest”, the IAEA’s chief said.
