Funds for financing a project on location of Nuclear Fuel Bank in Kazakhstan determined

The financing of the project on location of low enriched uranium Bank of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Kazakhstan will total $150 mln, Ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Barlibay Sadykov said at the briefing held in SCS on June 15, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the government of Kazakhstan.

“The financing of the project in the volume of $150 mln will be based on voluntary fees. This sum has already been provided to IAEA by a number of states and non-governmental organizations”, B.Sadykhov said.

Thus, according to him, the government of USA, the EU, the government of Kuwait and United Arab Emirates, Norway and the International Fund of Nuclear Threat Reduction have allocated $50 mln respectively.

“Kazakhstan will face expenditures only when storing materials. No additional expenditures shall arise”, B.Sadykov

said.
