First European Games facilities provided with electricity at a high level

Azerishyg OJSC has implemented large-scale projects in connection with the first Baku 2015 European Games, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press service of Azerishyg.

Six 110 kV substations and fourteen 35 kV closed type substations with brand-new equipment have been commissioned in a short time, ensuring stable and reliable supply of electricity to the facilities of the first European Games. The operated equipment at each substation and transformer areas are provided with modern technologies. Moreover, all substations supplying sports facilities with electricity are connected to the supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA). Operational headquarters has been created along with other technical measures. Besides the rapid rescue team all transformer points have duty officers. Mobile operational and maintenance crews have been provided with new cars. Machinery and mechanisms of the joint stock company have been made ready. Prevention and control work is regularly performed on substations and distribution units supplying electricity for the European Games. Emergency response drills are conducted for the operating personnel and the team of engineers. The 24-hour duty system for energy supply has been approved and the facilities have been provided with machines and mechanisms, auxiliary equipment and materials. Control has been taken over the energy supply to residences of athletes and media representatives - Athletic Village, MediaCenter as well as other Games-related facilities.
