65% of economy falls on non-oil sector

At present the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan accounts for 65% of the economy,  President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated on April 17 in the course of the Republican conference of non-oil exporters in Yevlakh, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

According to him, “the considerable part of our export is still associated with oil and gas which is perhaps natural for the present period because we are increasing the oil-gas potential”.

“However, one of the forth coming tasks is to diversify export as well. We should achieve in export just like the way we did it in GDP”, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the implementation of the regional development program yields perfect results. Thousands of new enterprises have been created. He emphasized that 1.7 mln new working places were opened. 1.3mln of them are permanent working places.
